Many years ago I glued a rearview mirror to a windshield using superglue and I seem to recall it didn't work out. I need to glue mine in my 68- what are people using? I did a quick search on the site and didn't see anything,.

Must every auto parts store sells the special windshield glass glue to use when installing the metal piece to the glass. It is a common fix. The best of luck on your project. Bob

Before you glue, make sure your glass and mount are absolutely clean and smooth. when you push the mount on, give it a little extra twist back and forth, and hold it tight for a few minutes. do not remount the mirror for a daqy or so. should hold forever, or until it falls off again. phred

Before cleaning the windshield; mark a dot or circle on the outside of the glass. Use
a crayon, chalk, or marker or sumpthin.

My mirrors kept falling off, even when using the special glue. Then a friend told me to clean both surfaces with "denatured" alcohol. That did the trick for me. Haven't had one fall off since using that tip.
