a) He's gonna restore them someday...

b) Saving them for my kids (who have no interest other than to sell them for drug money)...

c) I like the attention I get having the Shelby rotting in the grass - it's the only social interaction I get...

Here are a few more but Diana had to compress them since they are still too large for the new changes Ron put in.  Notice I said Diana did them!

Here are a few more that might cause you nightmares tonight.  I have knocked on every crazies door for all of these pictures.  The owners are as interesting as the cars?!?!?

Wow....great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Speaking of the owners, did Grabber have it right for most of the owners or were there any other unusual stories?  Do most think they have a goldmine and are unaware of the real condition and restoration costs?

Nightmare is right...do you get any sleep?  Grin

I think this is the closest:

c: I like the attention I get having the Shelby rotting in the grass - it's the only social interaction I get.

By chance one night, at a car show, I happened to get into a conversation with a psychologist on this subject.  He claimed that many that hoard such classics do it as a power trip.  They have something others badly want, including their kids, nephews, neighbors, etc., who may never pay any attention to them otherwise.  Now, I'm sure that's not the case in every situation, but I think he hit the nail on the head about most of them.  So, I would advise anyone whose after a car like this to approach the owner one time, with a monetary offer, and then pay them no more attention.  If they really want to sell it they'll let you know.

YES  I will say that c) I like the attention I get having the Shelby rotting in the grass - it's the only social interaction I get   WOULD BE THE BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE THE OWNERS

Great pictures! These would make a good calender. The excuse I have most often heard is, "I'm going to restore it some day".
