Hopefully this isn't an actual '68 Shelby that someone cut up. These Pictures are from the filming of the "Thomas Crown Affair" I'm hoping that even though it (hopefully) isn't a real Shelby Mustang some of you might know more details about this car, or possibly have more pictures of it.

Who knows maybe one of you guys are crazy enough to actually own it. I'm building a Model Of this for a "Movie Car" theme and want to get it right. If I can't get any info on this I may just build a model of CSX3255 from "The Gumball Rally"

TIA

I do not know anything about the car. A few observations, It appears to be a 67 mustang. No side marker lights/reflector as a 68, 67 style rear veiw mirror. bad fiberglass, no SHELBY letters front or rear. no wheel opening or rocker moulding as a 67 not a 68 Shelby. Anttena is in front fender not in left rear quarter as a 68 Shelby & is also a 69 style. car has a right hand mirror, no 67 or 68 Shelbys had right hand mirrors (factory ).Left hand mirror is a manual mirror not a remote as a Shelby. No Druz fastners (hood locks)for hood. No Shelby conv. ever had a 4 point roll bar. No inertia reel seat belts as a Shelby conv. would have. Ga s cap appears to have GT on it as a Mustang.Wrong fog lamps, grille & badging, flared wheel openings & that is just the obvious stuff. Good luck.

There were two cars built by and for a company in Florida for the movie, both cars are based off of 67 Mustang convertibles with Shelby style fiberglass add ons. One car was covered with camera mounts and was wrecked during shooting (something about hitting a stationary taxi that refused to remain stationary while the film car was being driven by). The "star car" (non stunt oriented for close ups as in some of your screen captures) was last seen in a Miami, Florida storage area for other movie/TV rental cars back in August 2002.......

From IMDB
Quote
The dark green "Shelby Mustang" that Crown drives on Martinique was originally intended to be used for Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in Last Action Hero (1993), another John McTiernan film, and was retrieved from the director's garage for this film.
