Still room left for about 40 entries out of 150 spots I think. We have about 20 guys with Ford GT's aiming for the 200 MPH club.

The main runway, 12,000 feet. 1 Mile to reach max speed or allowed speed for your class. I am running in the Super Sport which they allow up to 205 MPH. I have a modified pulley and tune and 100 octane which should get me to 200MPH in a mile. Full Safety gear, harness, extinguisher, suit, gloves etc....

Location here:

Here's my car I will be running:

Should be a fun day and A LOT OF FAST FORDS running the mile:

The car looks GREAT! The event looks fun. Best of luck, and remember - safety first.

Maybe I missed something in the text, but is the event at Nellis or is it in Mojave, CA.Huh? (the announcement says Mojave, CA.)

According to the link it's at the Mojave Air and Space Port, a private airfield in Mojave, Ca.  I was wondering about the mention of Nellis too.

Sorry, another event was being talked about and mixed them up.

YES IT IS AT A PRIVATE 12,000 runway in MOJAVE,CA

That’s right – standing-start, flat out speed, as fast as you can go in ONE MILE! In conjunction with the Mojave Air and Space Port, a private airfield in Mojave, CA, we will host the first ever Mojave Mile Shootout event on March 6, 2010. This facility features a 12,000’ runway which will allow for very fast speeds (250+ mph) and a comfortable braking margin. Since Mile Shootout racing is already very popular in Texas, the Midwest, and the East Coast, we look forward to being the premiere site for Mile Shootouts in the West! While the premiere of the Mojave Mile is scheduled to be a one-day event, future events will be 2-3 days long and will attract up to 300 participants!

HA! Hopefully they don't strap on wings or else we become Airborne at 150MPH in 4th gear Rip

I have the pulley and tune mod which should get me to 180 mph+ in the right conditions in a mile.
