At least it did the job of keeping the tag with the car.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb

Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Or did they not have rivets when they transferred it to the replacement body?

Quite possibly!  Guess you could say they got "screwed" on the deal.

Correct patina on the screws. Where did you ever find this one?

Found on Bring a Trailer site under Shelby Mustang. Saw a Hertz car on there with huge flares painted white with white and blue velour interior as well. I could find and post.

#6S1245

Wonder what took place. Have 6S1245 VIN tag attached with rivets 2 1/2 yrs ago from a Craiglist ad. Doesn't look like the same tag as in the top (dime) picture

Two totally different plates from the first post to this one saying 6S1245!!

Too bad the old threads are gone.

I got that VIN # from a discussion on the car. Obviously not the same plates.

Had it marked/identified as 6S2052 from that thread or another but can't confirm

This is the source. I may have muddied the record at the beginning of my post by mentioning the Hertz with the fender flares. I meant to add that the Hertz was another Shelby I saw with unusual attributes in addition to this one. I will attribute it to Bullitt delirium or Bullitt fatigue. Was playing soundtrack up and back. Hardcore.

The car was discussed here when it was listed. That is where I got the VIN.

obviously, something isn't adding up. My comment is therefore not accurate.

I quit leaving my hood up if I'm not next to the car and if I leave the car at a cars and coffee or a show I put a lock on the left side. All it takes is a cretent with a blade screwdriver and your tag is gone.
