NOS 65 Shelby hipo fuelpump- (NOT)
« on: February 02, 2018, 03:58:17 PM »
This auction is wrong on so many levels. Not NOS, not a hipo fuel pump (real one 3939S) .You can make up mind on if clueless seller , down right dishonest or a little of both. buyer beware.  https://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-64-65-FORD-MUSTANG-SHELBY-HiPo-FUEL-PUMP-With-Canister-And-Filter/112791802093

To the sellers credit after sending him a message he immediately changed some of the wording indicating NOS and other description verbiage that make it less blatantly incorrect.

Newest copy is still incorrect after pointing out inconsistencies in previous messages  " This is an original 65 Mustang Shelby small block 289 fuel pump assembly. It has the correct 3911S stamped (see photo) in the casting. These are known as button top pumps and are same that were used in 65 HiPo cars.. I have included a brand new cad plated canister as well as a new fuel filter element with gasket.. These are extremely hard to locate and can easily rebuilt.. Not a original fuelpump to a GT350, 3911S stamping is only correct for non hipo engine, the two different fuelpumps  are similar button top in appearance put implication is that they are the same. They are not.

Looks like it was 'cleaned' with a wire wheel attachment on a bench grinder.   :-\

Charles,

Are you sure they didn't just use some Oxiclean?  Bill Mays would be very proud.

As of this posting he does still list the condition in the ebay format at the top of the auction page as new so maybe "shiny =new". I would like to think (and is more likely ) that he just forgot to change that part when he made the somewhat better revisions .
