I see the issue, it's a punctuation error.

Should read:   "New", old stock 

In other words, sure, it's new, but it's someones old stock sitting on their shelf from when they received it last year

Judging from the condition of some recent NOS listings, not only Pookies, I think there's abit of history lost, i.e
Recovered from the long-ignored stock following cleanup after hurricane xxxxx.
