Currently looking for a set of correct date coded exhaust manifolds for a 1967 GT500 built in January 1967.  I found one manifold with a casting date code, but the manifold for the other side has "SPEC" in lieu of a casting date code.  Should both manifolds have a casting date code?  Why would one manifold have "SPEC" instead of a casting date code?

I haven't ever seen both sides with the spec .67 Shelby's typically had the date coded version. As far as what it means I am not sure. Besides looking identical ,the seldom usage mixed in with all of the others indicates to me that there is nothing special about it more of a anomaly.

Have only seen one such manifold marked that way and it was reported from a 67 Mustang.  What every their original purpose they seem to have been (the few made) moved into the main parts supply for engine plant.  More of a conversation piece IMHO.  What side was it?  Wondering if they only did this for one of the two exhaust manifolds.
