Yesterday, I attended the 37th Annual Mustang & Ford Round Up in Austin, TX.  Needless to say, it was a great show - complete with great weather (it was pushed back 2 weeks due to Hurricane Harvey) and great cars!  Chug a Lug

One of the cars that was on display was a 1965 Shelby GT350 - car #131.  The owner was extremely friendly, and it was great to see a 65 Shelby out in the wild!

Here are some pics:

And...one shameless plug...I decided to trailer my 67 GT350 to the show (I didn't feel like diving 60 mph all the way to Austin for fear of being rear ended on the highway  Grin).

Needless to say, I won Best of Show!

Truly, I posted this so I could thank some of the people that have helped me make my car more concours correct over the past months since SAAC 42:
- JD (#0026)
- Bob Gaines (#0001)
- Brian Glover (formerly #0083)
- And many others

I have a LONG way to go, but I've made great strides since I first learned what the heck "phosphate and oil" was Grin.

Thanks to all!   Chug a Lug

Thanks JD!

And no worries about driving it. I took it out for a few errands the day before the show, and I took it out for about an hour today.  Party on

Congratulations, Ruben! And you are so right about the helpful people in the Shelby community. They are simply the best.

I was going to razz you about not driving the car to the show, but you made the right decision about that. Texas drivers can be awful. And I was born & raise here so I should know. BTW, I have a friend who was doing the safe thing by trailering his car to the SAAC convention. Something went wrong with the tow vehicle and his rig ended up in the highway esplanade with damage to everything Ė including his Shelby. Ouch! Glad that didnít happen to you.

Ruben. Your car was stunning! Congrats on best of show. Well deserved. I love early '67s and yours was awesome. Of course I love white cars too. Thanks for posting pics of my '65. The Austin show is one of my local favorites and enjoy taking my car. Rick

Thanks Rick, and thanks for bringing out your car!  It, too, was stunning.  Chug a Lug

Let me know if you're hitting any other local shows.  I'd love to meet up again.  Chug a Lug

Thanks Rod!  ...another person I forgot to thank for help and support along the way  Embarrassed.  People have gone WAY above and beyond to assist and I greatly appreciate it!  Truly, this community have been fantastic, and I've had sooooo many people helping that it's hard to remember all that have contributed along the way.  Chug a Lug
