I rode down to Littleton NC with Wayne Taylor this past Saturday for the car show that is held as part of the town festival every Labor Day weekend. Wayne towed the #90 1964 Fairlane Late Model Sportsman stock car originally built by Junie Donlavey and driven by the late great Sonny Hutchins, while his son David drove the Shelby (6S1358). About 80-90 cars (which was great considering the weather), Wayne definitely had the most interesting Ford products there. Lots of cars from VA and NC.

Interesting story about 6S1358- it was originally the company car for Jim Beltnick, a PR guy for Shelby (he is pictured sitting in a 1967 Shelby T/A car at Willow Springs on page 168 of Chuck Cantwell's and Greg Kolasa's new book). It was then sold as a used demo unit through Northwestern Ford in Milwaukee, then ended up on the used car lot of Kimnach Ford in 1970, traded in by a sailor on a GTO. Bruce Turlington bought it, and modified/restored it for autocross, including Konis/overrides/panhard rod (was originally dark green with painted Magnums, the current paint job was done in 1974), and was quite successful with it (he even got FTD with it at the final SOA convention at Wichita in 1975). Wayne bought it at the beginning of 1979 and has owned it ever since.
