Ebay, not mine.  Can anyone take a guess what number car this is?  (Chris Brown's old car no. 18?)

Hello Everyone,

I exchanged messages with the e-Bay seller today.  He states these are actual negatives that could be used for photo processing.  Might be a real treasure for the current owner of the car.  Does anyone know which car was used for the Detroit Auto Show?

Thanks,
Eric

It look like #0018 was a company car for Ray Geddes, He seems to have had many 67's so that might have more meaning.

These 15 were listed as show cars.
#17, 19, 20, 23, 27,28, 30, 31, 32, 36, 37, 39, 40, 50, & 70. All but #50 are noted as shipped to dealer upon completion on or before 11/9/66
The Detroit Auto Show was usually in Early December. Anyone of these could fit in the time frame, if the dealer was close to Michigan.
If I had to guess however, I'd pick either #18 or #50.

Here it is "inverted" in Photoshop. Are we sure it is a 350? Almost looks like a 500 and scoop light may have the chrome ring...could this be Lowell's car?

Yes, great job Tom!

Definitely doesn't look white!?! It looks like it might have a standard GT gas cap emblem.

Also the placement of the fender emblem is off, like a few other early cars we have seen.
Perhaps it is this Dark Moss Green car / photo with CS standing in front of the building.

Also...Lowell's car had the side emblems in the correct location and didn't have Large Letter Goodyear's in the promo photos...

One more thing to add, all of the listed show cars are White with the exception of #40 being Black. I never looked at it that way before. Any chance some Green cars could been considered show cars too?

That is the same car that is in this picture.  I showed it to Kieth and he recognized the wall as being in Los Angeles.  I'm always looking for more photos to this set, has anyone ever seen any?

Not all pr/show cars were white. My black 0069 was shipped 11/11/66 to Stark Hickey Ford in Royal Oak MI, which was about as close to Detroit as you could get.
Just another possibility.

RC, I've got #0040 as white by the VIN. All the cars #s I listed were focused strictly on White cars based on the Negative. When Tom posted the reversed negative showing a dark car that tossed all of those out the window.

There were numerous Dark Moss Green, Raven Black, and Nightmist Blue show cars. Since the negatives are B&W we really don't know which one of those colors it is.

Based on that incorrect placed side emblem we have to consider it could be the same Dark Moss Green car from the color photo with CS.
Strictly looking at DMG paint;
#03 is listed as a company car for Ray Geddes...What use did it really serve? He could only drive one car?

#02, 04, 07, 09, 12, 14, 15, 16, 21, 24, & 26 are listed as show cars built on or before December and shipped off to dealer upon completion. Only two of these car were shipped to Michigan (#14 - 15) and both were sold mid November to their first owners. I would think this eliminate all of these DMG cars other than the #03. Of course it could be one of the Nightmist Blue or Black cars too.

Ok, I'm pulled in on these mystery so, let's look at all the Raven Black company or show cars. There were no company cars, but several show cars all built on or before December '66. They are noted as follows; #33, 34, 41, 44, 45, 47, 48, 49, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 69, & 72.

#69 is the only car shipped to Michigan and also didn't sell until 12/24 to it first owner. It is a good possibility.
Perhaps the original owner has some photos that you can look at the location of the side emblems...

A look at Nightmist Blue shows only show cars as follows; #62, 64, 65, 68, 83, 86, & 89.
None of these shipped near Michigan, but #64 did make it to Ohio. I don't think any of these fit the puzzle.

I know in that picture the car sure seems to be DMG, but that is a still from the Ford/Shelby commercial.  Here are 2 links on tube of it.  Am I crazy in thinking it looks Nightmist in the video?  The colors are all over the place...

Wow those videos are really poor quality. I've seen a better version at some point. I believe the color photo was saved from that better video.
(Yes, the color look like Nightmist in those poor quality version, but I think they are just off color.
