Does this balancer look like it is painted?  It was restored by dale manufacturing.  It looks bare to me and i am wondering if it will rust if I leave it as is.

Comparing the metal to the rubber it appears that it isn't painted black as it was originally.

Unless oiled, or protected in some other way it will likely rust

Thanks.  I'll have to remove it to paint both sides.  I was excited to bolt the pullies on tonight and then I noticed it did not look painted.

My engine builder uses dale manufacturing for all his builds.  He specifies to not paint them so it was not the rebuilder's fault mine was not painted.
