When the tag is missing from the trans , how can you verify if this is a original trans? For the gt500 is it big input output? Part number on the case? thks.

Thanks everything matches up. The tag was lost. Now have to decide to keep for one of my cars or to sell.

Casting numbers aren't unique to Rug-S.  Main case is used on all up to 1968.  tail is used on big and small blocks only bored larger for 31 spline

A original transmission for a 67 GT350 or 500 will have a Ford vin for the car it was mated to stamped on a pad at the bottom side of the main case.

The C6 autos are typically stamped on the top side rear of the main case.
