I noticed these two illustrations in the AM (view A). Was the nipple angled back toward the firewall? All pictures I have don't clearly show this.

Thanks  Chug a Lug

Nipple angled back is typical from what I have seen . Interesting that the illustration shows the 67 two piece heater hose fitting at the waterpump. I have not seen one of those on any early 68 BB Shelby or Mustang . Has anyone  seen that on a early 68?

Chris, all the original engines I've seen angle but barely. Lets call perpendicular to the front of the car 9 o'clock and pointing to the firewall 12 o'clock
You want it at about 9:20

Thanks Tim. That is probably why I cant see the difference in my pictures.

So slight that you have to have the camera at the perfect angle.

I havent seen anything that looks like view "A" in the above drawing. I think Tim's information is much closer to the cars I have seen. I will look for some original phots if I get a chance.

Thanks Pete. I remember either hearing a conversation during judging or reading a thread that was about the angle of the nipple just couldn't find anything conclusive.  Smiley
