We are discussing the feasibility of having a joint North and South Carolina SAAC get together in the month of May.  It was suggested that we have a nice 'show and shine' to get all the Carolina Shelbys together at least once this spring, and that the location be more friendly to our Charlotte brothers and sisters.  Let's be honest folks, no matter where we choose, someone's not going to be happy geographically.  How does somewhere just south of Charlotte, but still in North Carolina sound?  Does anyone know of any major conflicts with the date of Saturday, May 6th?  We are looking at a few possible venues including a large Ford dealership in Indian Trail, NC which is right next to a nice diner.  Ample parking, good food and clean bathrooms.  What seems more appealing than that?

Now is your time to speak up, or as the preacher says, forever hold your peace. Grin

Good to know.  That's why I threw that out there.  How about the following weekend?  Saturday, 13th of May?  Thoughts on location?

13th is the day before Mother's Day, works for me

May 12th, I can check with my country club about using part of the large parking lot at the clubhouse, all the amenities, bathrooms, etc.  I am a newer member, so I'm not sure if they've ever had anything like this before, if they'd offer food deals etc.  I'm just above Lake Wylie, south of Charlotte, about 10 minutes east of I-77, 15 minutes south of I485 and 25 minutes south of I85.  That evening, about 10 minutes away, is a cruise night at my favorite BBQ place, Fort Mill BBQ, if the weather is nice, they attract 50-80 cars or more, are in a large parking lot, plus the owner was telling me he plans on having live music this year at the monthly events. Let me know if I should check.

Close enough for the Atlanta folks to join.    Would you mind some 'party crashers'?  Party on

Ok, anymore thoughts?  Is May a good idea,or would you all just rather shelf the idea and meet up at SAAC 42 instead?  Is the geographic location not favorable?

IMHO, towing up I-77 and back is never favorable...even in good weather...and in fog, it's downright treacherous!  We're still in favor of getting together somewhere within a couple hour's drive sometime in May.
