This subject has come up several times in the past on the forum and in personal conversations.
It’s time to set the record straight with a parts number and a usage list.

MKI “SHELBY” lettered parts:
These were only included on the first 13 built cars.
Afterwards, they switched to the “SAAC” lettered parts for production.
Both version were available through the SAAC Parts Company
-The “SHELBY” lettered valve covers were listed in the catalog as part number; SAAC -6582-MKIA
-The “SHELBY” lettered GT40 intake manifold top plate is listed as part number; SAAC-9E434-MKI
-The “SHELBY” lettered Mustang intake manifold top plate is part number; SAAC-9E433-MKIA
(The Mustang intake manifold top plate was never used on a SAAC MKI)

MKI “CS” oil fill cap:
These were only placed on the first 13 built cars (later added to a 14th car prior to its sale).
Afterwards, they switched to the actual car number for the remaining production.
MKII 004 was the only car to instead have a cap with “OIL” engraved.
The “CS” part was made available through the SAAC Parts Company.
-The Carroll Shelby “CS” oil filler cap was listed in the catalog as part number; SAAC-3200-A

MKI, MKII, & SNAKE “SAAC” lettered parts:
These were the typical production parts included throughout production.
-The “SAAC” lettered valve covers were listed in the catalog as part number; SAAC -6582-MKII
(Only a couple of SAAC SNAKES had this option, most kept the standard valve covers)
-The “SAAC” lettered GT40 intake manifold top plate is listed as part number; SAAC-9E434-MKII
(I have observed the actual part with the number; SAAC-9E934-MKIA)
-The “SAAC” lettered Mustang intake manifold top plate is listed as part number; SAAC-9E433-S
(These were only used on the SAAC Snake)

Here's a photo of the above parts as listed. These are directly from the catalog photo shoot with thanks to Rick Kopec.
