Check out this video posted on YouTube(R). The last segment starts at the 1:43 mark. Does anybody know when in 1963 and where this segment was taken? The date is of most interest.

Dan - the last segment is a very young Mid-Ohio and my best guess is this is the USRRC round there Sept. 21-22.  Info about the race and the entry list can be found here;

1963 Sebring

The video has three obvious segments stuck together.

Segment 1 is at Sebring and we know that time frame.

Segment 2 is at Mid Ohio and we know that time frame.

Those are the freebies. The unknown is when and where was that awards presentation in the third segment.

Sorry, don't have any input into the location or date, but that is an unusual 289 Cobra. Note the squared off side vent (looks slightly larger, too) and little round tail lights. This might be the car that was featured in a contemporary British road test that stated the car was Shelby's driver when he visited England although it was left hand drive. I believe this was also the rack and pinion prototype. I'm out at the moment but I'll be able to reference the magazine and date shortly.

The magazine I referred to in my last post was Autosport, dated June 7, 1963. Although the photo reproduction is poor, the car has SW gauges and an alternator, but I can't tell if it has side vents. It wears a QQ907 license plate.
