My very good friend and former SAAC-MCR President, Tom Greene passed away on January 20th.  Tom was critically injured in a karting accident on January 18th in Knoxville, TN.   He suffered an "Earnhart" injury to his spinal cord, paralyzing him.   He never regained consciousness.   Tom worked at Ford in the Transmission design area.  I first met him at a Ford Employee Car Show on the grounds of the old Body Engineering Building in the early seventies.

Tom was very active in our club, and was President of SAAC-MCR for twenty years.   Tom retired from Ford in 2009, and he and Phyllis moved to Tellico Village in Vonore, TN, where they built their dream home.   Claudia and I used to stop in to see them on our way back and forth to Florida.

Services will be held Wednesday, January 25th in Tellico Village, TN.

Just heard about this today. I was a SAAC-MCR member until I moved to New Orleans in 2009. He was a great human being and a true car guy. Condolences to his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
