Problem is that sacrificial Dow#7 eventually went away as a natural oxidative surface.  I did like the look...

Yes, but everything nice is high maintenance (just look at homes, women...). BTW there are a number of conversion coatings similar to Dow 7 and I'm skeptical Dow 7 was used originally on these wheels. Years back I had a couple of outfits apply Dow 7 to one of my wheels and it was not the same. I tried some of the other mixtures and was finally able to get results that looked quite close, but over time as they've oxidized I've just settled for that look (which for some extended period does still look a bit different than plain oxidized bare mag).

What's the chassis# of this great looking Cobra?
I've been so locked onto the finish of the wheels in this photo I may have missed it somewhere . . . .

These babies are getting new rubber today and will be installed on my ERA 427.  Gonna keep it simple...blasted centers and machined lips.

B is my favorite.  I am tired of the black wheel look that is so popular right now...

I believe that the British Racing Green 427 street model used for the wheel comparison is actually an ERA replica owned by a gentleman in Maine. I could be wrong.

I'm not sure what happened to the photos with the choices.  However, here's an update to show what I ended up with for my ERA 427 (Chassis #488).
