I doubt that it would be a dealer plate; as the car was used by Hertz in San Francisco and would have received a CA plate when put into service about 12/25/65 when delivered same day as 6S576, which carried the plates previously noted.

Got a couple more photos scanned- per Howard Pardee and Gary Goeringer, the consensus is that the #17 car is SFM6S1218 (which was a Hertz car that was rebuilt into a B/Production racer in 1966 using the parts from SFM5R527, which was totaled in 1966). This photo was taken at Cotati in April, 1968. They believe #77 was SFM5S429, raced by Mark Waco (side windows and scoops added, looks like it still has a 65 dash pod, though). This photo was taken at Laguna Seca in October, 1967.

Scanned some photos of a GT40 Mk I, taken in Sept 1967. Decent photos, but I have no idea whose car it was or where these were taken (other than if was in Northern CA). Looks like the car had a LF tire problem during the day.

Merry Christmas to everyone out there!

Don't have anything humorous (or corny) to share with everyone, but I did come across some more old photos of my 66 GT350, 6S1342, when Frank Likert was drag racing and autocrossing it (in the 70s-80s), in Lee Mathias collection. The two (nighttime) photos were taken in May 1980, at Langley Speedway during the One-on-One Drags series (for spectators, between the Late Model and Limited Sportsman shows). Never mind the fact that the Trans-Am is out on the Shelby by a fender- Frank still beat him (and on those skinny radials too!!!!!!!!)

Hope everyone got the gift they were waiting for.......

I'm lucky enough to live about 45 minutes south of Lee and have seen his album numerous times.  Great stuff!

Wow, that is really cool stuff. I have a "SCCA San Francisco Division" sticker on the rear window of my '65 GT350.

Stuck inside today with a bunch of snow blowing around outside, figured I'd scan some more of Lee's old photos that were of interest. Got two R-Models, one is Bob Vincent's 5R212 Gourmet Salad car, taken at the SOA convention at Heidelburg in 73. The other is Ken Halpen's 5R532, taken at a Shelby event in 74.

The last of the 5R094 photos, and a couple of Cobras at Mid America in 1982. Chuck Gutke is driving the red one.

Last photos for today. 6S1666 after Lee Wilmot crunched it at Road Atlanta, sometime in the late 80s. It was at Lee Mathias shop (The Mustang Farm) for repairs when these photos were taken.
