I just got done rereading some history on the 65 GT350.  They mention the two HiPo Coupes that were used for testing for the GT350.  Later stating one was used for racing, the other had an unknown history.

Has anyone tried to locate these cars?  The article states that the VIN numbers are known by SAAC.  I wonder if one or both still exist?

The cars were the "Tour de France" Mustangs developed by H-M, on which the 1965 GT-350 was further derived. Both Poppy red.

They were not the Alan Mann ones. I  had a look myself twice at #112 last year in a shed.
#109 through #111 are the Alan Mann ones used at the TDF with 109 being the current known only survivor (the stamped VIN is authentified).
#112 being sold to a private owner late in 1964 after having seen some rallye usage, still around today, but not driven.

The mules were #113 and #114. One went to Ray Wolfe. Raced amongst others at the Vaca Valley 1966. Pics are available in the online DB of the Stanford Univ. Check for Ray Wolfe and Mustang. Sponsored by HiPerformance Motors.

Ray still had the car in '72 as I used to frequent his shop. I do not know where it went after his passing. His shop was a gold mine for '65-67 SAI parts. I do not know which vin # he had , I just remember the coupe being there in the shop bays under a cover.

owner 6S477 HERTZ White w/Blue stripes-1of18-since 1974. OVER 3,500 drag strip runs made in it since then. My candidate for the "worlds Most drag raced Shelby" More added all the time.
