I was 18, first year of college, and had been saving $$$ from summer and night time jobs and when a classified ad in the Monterey Peninsula Herald listed a 1964 Cobra 289 I called Randy Hilton to look at it.  Nah, I wasn't going to buy it but I sure wanted a test ride in it....and, as everyone on this board knows, you can't go backwards.  I had to have it and that December, 1966 it was mine.  This is an 8mm film I short shortly after buying it and before adding my own personal touches to it.  It's about as stock as when it was delivered in 1964. Hmmm.  Just noticed I'd already replaced the stock tires with a set of Goodyear E60s and removed the wind wings. Enjoy.

Wow, great video from back in the day.  Thanks for posting it.  My only question after watching it is, were you expecting a flood with those pants?  Very cool!

And if you do, another video, with you doing the same things shot today, would be awesome.

Who does own CSX2255 now?  I can only imagine how excited they would be to see it back in it's infancy.

What about the VW bug? Was that a family member's car. Probably the car your mom wanted you to drive.

My dad was happy when I traded my 1954 Vette for a 1966 VW. The trans had died and I needed to get to college so my $600 Vette went down the road for a 2 year old VW.
