As many of you have already heard, Randy Bailey has stepped down as head of SAAC Concours Judging. We thank Randy for his dedication and service as it's an unenviable task.

The SAAC Board of Directors have made a decision to make it a partnered position and approached long time SAAC member Jim Cowles and former MCA Head Judge Bob Perkins to head up the judging, and they have accepted.

With their longtime status and knowledge in the Mustang and Shelby community, we hope to be able to make the SAAC Concours Judging more uniform in scope and to maintain the integrity of SAAC Concours; the SAAC Board of Directors has made this a priority.

Jim's title will be Concours Chairman with Bob being Head Judge. It will be an equally partnered position but we had to assign titles.

We will be supplying contact information for each with preferred method of contact to be email as both have day jobs.
They have been contacting existing judges as time permits and will be posting on the SAAC forum (Concours Judging subforum) and the club website as they create completed and updated information.

Anyone interested in judging the Concours at SAAC conventions, at this time, are asked to contact pitcrew@saac.com with complete contact information and a summary of credentials.

Sincerely,
SAAC Board of Directors

Thanks Xcoils, but I'm afraid I am ancient history with SAAC.

Thank you to Jim Cowles and Bob Perkins for taking on this responsibility. I don’t do concours myself, but I have great respect and admiration for the judges, participants and cars. Every Shelby doesn’t need to be showroom perfect, but I think we all benefit from the expanded knowledge of these cars that is a natural result of healthy concours competition. And I think SAAC is blessed to have two such capable gentlemen willing to fill this roll.

THANK YOU, JIM & BOB!

Steve

Bob and I are going to display cars next weekend at the Muscle Car Show in Chicago . Since a lot of the SAAC people will be there we have arranged to get a small meeting room.  If anyone is interested in chatting about the SAAC judging past or future please fell free to attend.  We will be meeting at 1 Pm Saturday  by the Perkins Restoration Glass sided trailer with the Boss 302 inside.  From there we will all go together to the meeting room about 1:15

We had 30 people brave the blizzard to attend.    Lots of good suggestions  and positive thinking.  The consensus of the group was to focus on (education)  and that will be the main goal for both judges and car owners. Look for updates as we get them.
