We picked this car up in Alameda,  engine and trans were out along with everything else.  was a roller  .  The Pirate had a great idea to rent a tow dolly and tow the car like that to Green Bay.  He had a full size van and we started out.  As soon as we got to about 45 MPH  we learned a valuable lesson that you need an engine in a car to use a tow dolly as it started bouncing and jack knifed. We proceeded to put our friend John McCoy in the car and he would hold the steering straight until we could get to a metal fabrication shop where we proceeded to take all the front suspension off and fabricated a trailer hitch  that connected to the front frame where the bumper arms attach.  After that we were cruising 70 MPH.  We stopped in Iowa 2 days later at a restaurant and watched a Local Sheriff take two laps around the parking lot checking the rig out. He waited for us to get on the east bound on ramp before he pulled us over,  mainly out of curiosity.  We made the explanation , he bought it ,  shook his head and said get this thing out of my state. We said will do and headed out. 
The Pirate really didn't do anything to it and ended up trading it to Mike Gaffney and Cliff Hornback ended up putting it back together as it sits today. It was just another adventure in our travels early on with Shelbys
