Well, it looks like I'm starting my 3rd thread in the Shelby American History Board, and it will be under the name 'Shelby American Collection and Shelby Parts and Restoration' - explanation to follow...

This all began when I started the 'GEORGE WATTERS COLLECTION' in April 2014, and what an adventure that turned out to be!

Then Jim at Shelby Parts spoke with me about doing some scanning for the Shelby American Collection's archives. That's how the 'NATIONAL SPEED SPORT NEWS' thread came about, using the collection of papers that Jim had acquired. And that is still ongoing - I've just recently started posting the 1966 issues.

But he also has a lot of other miscellaneous items of historical interest, and is acquiring them all the time. So we thought we would start a separate thread for these various & unusual items. I'm going to continue with the same format that has seemed to work for the other two threads, that being to keep them all in the same place even though they may be of different subjects and categories. That way, members know where to go anytime they want to check and see if there is anything new in there. I'll just add things to it as time permits.

Jim has these things that we call 'proof sheets' for lack of a better term. They're 8.5" x 10" 'photos' of strips of negatives. He doesn't really even know/remember where he got them, but they're old & curled up and not easy to scan. But they're real interesting, and it seems like they contain images that have not been published before, at least images that I have never seen before. On the back of this one is handwriting that says "Haschel #1" and "Roll 9 - '64 Sebring, Fla. - Stocks & 12 Hr. Endurance".

I'll scan the whole sheet at a lower dpi to show what the entire sheet looks like, and then scan the Shelby American items of interest at a higher dpi and post them below the sheet. Where images are side by side I'll scan them together and when they're single images I can make them larger - all of the sizes shown here are regulated by the limits set by the Forum, but will open bigger when saved.

There are some nice single images from this sheet that will be in the next post, but here's a couple of double images below the big sheet:

YEE HA!

Keep 'em coming, Kieth. I don't always post a comment, but I check your history threads every day for new pictures. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this. And thank you to Jim Cowles of Shelby Parts and Restoration for being so generous in sharing these priceless documents and pictures with the Shelby community.

Thanks, I think I see a Lotus Cortina on one of the pictures. Also a very cool car.
Remember them from rallies and racing in Sweden in the mid 60's. Very competitive cars
and sometimes beat the 65 Alan Mann prepared Mustang driven by Bo Ljungfeldt.
Used to own a Lotus Cortina over there. Great car.

Very neat!  Chug a Lug

Love the 'patina' of the vintage shots.

Here's another Proof Sheet.
On the back of this one is handwritten: "#3 - Haschel - Roll 10 - 64 of 21 March 1964 - Sebring 12 Hr. Endurance."

I don't really understand what the red markings & comments indicate.

But, there are 10 images of Cobras hiding in there . . .

Great stuff!  Chug a Lug

Probably some never seen before photos!   Even in black and white they seem to come to life.

Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome, and I agree with all of your comments.

I really think that they have never been seen/published before because they aren't 'perfectly' framed shots, you know? They may be off center, out of focus, too far away, have another car 'cutting in', etc.

But that's what makes them so cool - and what has probably kept them from being seen all these years.
The red marks on them seem to indicate some sort of notes/instructions for cropping, etc. for possible submission for publication.

There's a few sheets coming up that have four 4" x 5" photos (not negatives) per page, and 3 of those unseen images are epic...

The cutting floor - there's good, historical stuff down there!
