Like the title says, I was in the neighborhood and I stopped by 6501 Imperial Hwy today.  I took a couple pics and walked in the lobby to see if they had one or two  pictures of the old facility maybe hanging on the wall.  I ended up talking to three employees and not one of them knew the significance of their present location.  It was pretty cool to be there though.  I think next year I am going to take my car down there the exact day of the 50th anniversary that it was shipped from there to TX.

oooh it gets much worse.

Sharing the same ramp, and visible in many era pictures is the former West Imperial Terminal, 6661 West Imperial.
It is now the LAX Historical Museum: http://flightpathmuseum.com/

Needless to say, nary a mention....
