I came across these articles with great shots of the SAI facilities at LAX. They include pictures of Cobra's, both street and R model GT350's, gt40's and various assembly pictures many of you may not have seen before. This article was recently posted on gt40s.com (saved by Mike Drew and hosted by Graham Endeacot). Many thanks to them for sharing.

Here's a link to the PDF file on Shelby history.    http://www.gt40.org.uk/ShelbyHistory.pdf

They also have PDF file on GT40's.     http://www.gt40.org.uk/FordGT40DesignStudy.pdf

I think some of these photos were taken on the press day open house in June '65. Especially since some of the photos included are from the press pack. I saved a couple of pictures of the r model at LAX shown below. There are also some nice detail shots

and the rear view of the R model with what looks like "four" convertibles to the left in assorted colors. I wish this was in color!

Anybody happen to have a hi-resolution shot of this image?  (yeah, I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd ask)

Curse of the black box.   Undecided

Would like to save a larger version if any of the computer experts can fix it.
