Ferrari movie review after viewing on Christmas Day
« on: December 26, 2023, 01:18:21 PM »
The movie ran two hours and packed a lot of detail into that time frame. The movie is a snapshot of Enzo's life and situation in 1957.  There is much family drama injected into the movie and maybe more than the actual racing. Some if not many of the incidents in the movie run parallel to Enzo Ferrari's life based on some post movie research I conducted.  The racing cars were beautiful and the scenery of the Mille Miglia breathtaking. If you have a broad interest in all things automotive I can highly recommend the movie. I give it five stars out of five. And for the $10 cost of admission, you really can't go wrong. It is a miracle that Hollywood is even making these types of movies given the current agenda.

Caveat: I make no warranties express or implied about how you may react to the movie based upon my review. Caveat emptor as always.

Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

Take it just like Ford vs Ferrari that many people disliked,  I personally enjoyed it.

It's just a movie rendition,  it's only entertainment not a historical biography

Great interview NC TRACKRAT.  Thank you for sending the link.  It is always interesting for me to see the behind the scenes.  By the way it would appear that the interview takes place in the subterranean cavern that someone built here in the US for his cars that mimics a French street right down to the cobblestone road.  I am particularly enamored by that garage.

Found a link to that garage to end all other garages.  A piece of France in Newport Beach.

By the way

I would tell people to go and see “Ferrari” because it’s a good movie, and it’s done well enough to not offend your intelligence if you’re not a gearhead. And at this early stage, I’m not giving away any more than that…

So, if you haven’t seen it, go see it. It’s well worth the 2 hours of entertainment

Hey, deathsled (and anyone else interested in over-the-top garages), check out "Ultimate Garages" by Phil Berg.  Motorbooks International ISBN 0-7603-1471-3. Great coffee table book with pics and descriptions of garages (and cars) to drool over.

Awesome Stan.

Just an FYI, no real Ferrari's were used in the movie, most of them were fiberglass bodies on Caterham 7 based chassis's  ;) Ford Duratec powered in most cases from what I understand  8)

I always heard that signore Ferrari was a kind and benevolent man and this movie does not show that facet
