I vaguely remember (though perhaps incorrectly) a thread on the old forum that spoke about the single exposed screw at the rear of the door panel and how some cars got them while others didn't. Can someone refresh my memory?

Thanks -

There was a technical service bulletin that addressed the door panels pulling away. The fix was to add  a screw to the rear center area.

I think you mean this?

Sorry for the low-res quality of the sheet.

The image is a door that appears to have had this done twice? Note two small holes.

(If you are restoring a "early" car with repaired or new panels you may not want to do this "fix" as it was an after delivered to the first owner issue.  Not sure if this was added to "later" cars before delivery - others will know better)

Included was what I call a "pool table washer".  AKA a "finish washer".  I guess the panel would pop off if you closed the door hard enough.  #0036 has these.

Thanks all.

0066 had them and trying to decide if they should go back or not. I can always add them later if I need them.

I was told that they were installed on the assembly line if the worker felt was needed for a finished fit.

Thanks, good to know!

(so it could have been done at the Factory, San Jose, or a dealer "fix" if deemed needed after delivery??)
