I like the earlier iteration where the stem was on the correct side for a Monaco and there was orange stitching on the band as well as a more detailed Gulf logo. The newer ones are also a couple mm thicker. About 6:45 in this video is the earlier model.

Yes, agreed. I believe the purpose of shifting the wind stem over to the left was to show off that the watch was automatic so you didn't need to touch the stem anymore.
