The only correct gauges are the originals. there are no "best available replacements" out there. they do pop up on Ebay from time to time. i have a perfect Alternator gauge-NOS in the original Ford box. Gary

Used gauges are your only choice. They can be rebuilt, but its probably not worth the trouble. Stewart Warners "historical advisor" didnt last very long. They misidentified the originals and reissued the wrong gauges.

Have the originals refurbished, new silkscreened gauge faces, cleaned and calibrated.  There's a place in Texas thagt does them - gauges, housings , everything.

Do you know the place? BTW the original posted never said he had original gauges in his car. Wonder if he does. Many of these cars had the gauges replaced over the years when they quit working with non original ones.

Haven't seen the car yet ...in person, assuming the guages will need refurbishing or replacement. But as this will be a driver, I sure don't and can't spend a years worth of pension checks on replacements. Maybe they'll be fine, but I'm kinda doubting it. Smiley

I don't know of any place in TX that does the 68 gauges. I can have them restored/calibrated and silkscreened and have access to an original SW gauge bezel crimper and a box of NOS uncrimped bezels. Turn around time is not quick, cost varies by gauge condition starting at 225 ea

Thanks all!   I'll have to wait and see how they look when the car arrives. I appreciate the offers and feedback.

Already dug up a set of 10 spokes, will store the wheels and covers for a while till i decide what direction to take the car.
