He never told me where he got the car. The only good pictures I have of the car are from Pete Disher. He was the one who pulled the engine and trans. I'll call you and get the #. I'd like to get the book also.

Ed, I noticed that this car has red inserts in the seats just like my red scj conv. Is this something unique to red converts. I think Jim told me when he first bought my car back in the early 70's it had the red inserts so there is no question they are original.

It is funny how things/perceptions changed over the years as more facts come out. I remember being told my seats were not original because they had the red stripes across them and verts shouldn't. I was pretty sure my seats were original. looked like vert worn seats not an enclosed car seats. Also a friend of mine who had the last Gt500 vert made also had red stripes on his seats and his seats were original. Ed knows the car .Pastel gray 4 speed 70.

It goes the other way also. I had a 69 Mach 1 that was Acapulco Blue with white interior. The seats did not have the red stripes and the carpet didn't have the red inserts either. I was told more than once it wasn't correct, but I know the interior was original. This was a long time ago, I don't know the build date, I think it was a Dearborn car.
I'd love to see more pics of the SCJ vert in as found condition if anyone can post them.

Big b427 69 white int. mach 1 & shelbys NEVER had red insert inseats & Never had red carpet inserts Only lh small black pad. The problem is on the repo 69 white deluxe seats they put red inserts in & people started thinking that is correct & then they thought the red carpet inserts would be correct to match seat red stripes. There have been many mistakes made in repoed parts over the years from vendors not doing the research.

What you say makes sense Ed. I think it was in the mid to late 80's that I put new seat covers on my Mach 1 because they had yellowed bad & were well worn and the only ones I could get had the red stripe on them. Bernie
