Not even close to an "ice" vehicle.  I recently learned the new lingo: "ice" standing for "Internal Combustion Engine."

I still want my "ice." No apologies.
"Low she sits on five spoke wheels
Small block eight so live she feels
There she's parked beside the curb
Engine revving to disturb
She's the princess from his past
Red paint gold stripes damned she's fast"

I suppose the down-time spent charging would give you time to hit the men's room, stock up on fast-food, and still get a 30 minute nap while all the cars you passed in the last 30 minutes now pass you by.

In other words:  Not a good Cannonball car.

When we did the Boston to San Diego "Four Ball Rally" in '82, (in ex-CHP captain's car...'79 Dodge St Regis with a 400 that we modified...Direct Connection cylinder heads, carb/intake/exhaust, etc) we had our gas stops down to between 10-12 minutes from when we left cruising speed on the highway, until we were back on the road.

That was time enough for one guy to pump gas, while the other ran to the men's room, grabbed more M&Ms and Mountain Dew (the highest caffeine of any soda, back then) paid the bill in cash (no change needed, takes too much time) and ran back to the car in Dukes hood-sliding style as the driver put it into gear and took off.

1982:  Years before pay-at-the-pump, debit cards, energy drinks, energy bars, smaller-than-gallon-sized bottled water, and states without a 55 mph speed limit.

Current:
2006 FGT, Tungsten. Whipple, HRE 20s, Ohlin coil-overs. Top Speed Certified 210.7 mph.

Kirkham Cobra 427.  482-inch aluminum side-oiler. Tremec 5-spd.

1968 GT500KR #2575 (1982-2022)
1970 Ranchero GT 429
1969 LTD Country Squire 429
1963 T-Bird Sport Roadster
