Version 1: 1991 MKI ”SHELBY” Prototypes
These first sets of emblems were found on the prototypes at the SAAC Convention for the introduction in 1991 in Charlotte, NC.
(This included; MKI CX1, XX1, XX2, XX3, & XX4 (MKI XX4 was marked as MKI 009 while in Charlotte;
MKI 007 has SHELBY emblems, but they were installed after Charlotte).
No other cars received them from the factory. I believe approximately a dozen sets were made for the prototypes.
“SHELBY” letters only for the exterior oval emblems, (no “AAC MKI” letters in ovals)
“SHELBY AAC MKI” letter emblems for the hatchback side quarter panel windows
“CS” letter logo in the center cap emblems
“SHELBY” letters in the oval logo on the steering wheel
