Once again, time for our annual holiday party - Saturday, December 3rd.  Festivities start around noon and run until the food and drink are gone.  As always, the party will be held at Steve and Chris's shop, Check Point Automotive, located at 3906 Grand View Blvd. in West Los Angeles (one block south of Venice and one block east of Centinela).  Price of admission to this holiday extravaganza is one unwrapped toy valued at $20 (or two or three preferrably).

As with years past and in the spirit of the holidays, we will be collecting toys in support of the LAPD Pacific Division's annual holiday toy drive which benefits underprivileged families in the local community.  Over the past several years the Club has been able to contribute hundreds of toys to this very worthy cause.  Last year, through member donations, auction proceeds and a healthy contribution from the Club treasury, we were also able to also donate $1,500 to Pacific Division (which they used to buy even more toys).

Always a good time - lots of food, drink, cool cars and great people.

Party postscript:

LASAAC would like to thank everyone that attended our Holiday Party and Toy Drive. LASAAC filled up the back of an LAPD pick-up truck with toys that our members and friends brought for the children in the Venice/Mar Vista community... member Sandy Bettleman even brought a couple big bags of toys. We also had a VERY successful auction to raise money for our LAPD Pacific Division Charity to purchase additional toys for their Christmas Toy Give-A-Way.

LASAAC raised $2,000 during the auction with special thanks to Michael Holmes and Hans Sures of Racing Division, Inc. for their fine art; Tim Herren for his Alltime Racing Open Track Day Pass; Bruce Meyers, for donating a personal tour for 6 people, of his soon to be completed display of his personal car collection; Steve Reich, for a Jay Leno Garage Tour for 4 people, to see his car collection; Jenni Shreeves of the Carroll Shelby Foundation for their special items and everyone else who donated and purchased items with ALL proceeds going to the annual LAPD Pacific Division Winter Wounderland Toy Drive. With assistance from our partners during our Santa Monica Pier Car Show, Santa Monica Ford and Morgan & Phillips, we added $1,500 for a total cash donation of $3,500. This is an incredible acheivement for a relatively small car club... that's something that everyone of us should be very proud of.  Again, a big thank you to everyone!
