i was told by a couple people that buildsheets don't exist for 67 shelbys...that is ford build sheets...i was wondering if this is true. the reason i am asking is i have a piece of build sheet (from ford) for #2845 was found in very unbelievible spot when i was restoring it. i will post but want to see if the info i was told is true or not. thanks i would like to hear what everyone thinks and if anyone has found ford build sheeets in their 67 shelbys.

I found one page of the build sheets and also a small corner of another under the carpet of #2339 when I was restoring it in 1988 - 1990.

The build sheet like what most are used to seeing for 68/69 cars are not there. What you can sometimes find in a 67 Shelby is what is referred to as the Add and Delete sheet. Unlike 68,69,and 70 it typically is not for one specific VIN car like the 68-70 build sheet but for a group of cars as Shelby's were built typically. It consists of a number of pages and not just one like for 68,69,and 70 . It outlined what was to be taken off of a regular Mustang and what pieces were to be substituted. This is most likely what you found. I found a electrical trouble fix sheet one time too. I have seen them for 66 but not for 65 yet. Bob

I found the Add/Delete 8 page packet in my car #2585.  Ford referred to this add/delete sheet as the "Special Vehicle Order and Parts Specifications" and was exactly as Bob described.  It wasn't for one specific serial number, but rather a number of cars, which looks like 45 units in the group my car was built with.  It lists all the part numbers of the deleted items and all the part numbers for the special order parts installed by Ford for Shelby American.  I also found a "Quality Control Travel Card" and a "San Jose Quality Assurance - Electrical Certification" sheet in car #2585 under the carpet in the back seat.  The add/delete sheet was under the driver side front carpet.

Now that you mention it Bob, that is exactly what I found.  The full sheet I have is Page 3, with items listed that are deleted.

    George,
I have the same 8 pages. Mine are dated 4-25-67 for a group of 20 automatic cars it was in one of the red (3 on this order) cars. DSO 84-2598 is on the upper right corner. Maybe i'll track down the current owner of the car and offer it to him/her.

#2842 had a Special Vehicle Order and Parts Specifications sheet (8 pages) under the passenger side floor board and pad.  Dated 5-3-67, order for 78 units, 5 different colors, DSO Code 89-2604.

What you found looks like remnants of a conventional build sheet .  I have never seen or heard of anyone that has found one before ether. A conventional build sheet is not typically there. At first glance it looks similar to a 68 sheet. The fact that it says Shelby American instead of Shelby unit separates it from them . The rear spring color appears to be different then what eventually ended up on the cars so this might be a paperwork record of how it started out. We don't know for sure if the parts were actually installed and then later changed on the Ford line or built a certain way from the get go. The Paperwork format might just be a clerical way Ford kept track of the changes and not necessarily the way the cars were built. For instance a 390 installed and then taken out and a 428PI installed or the 428PI engine installed from the beginning. Paperwork can be interpreted into indicating one was in then taken out but that seems like a lot of unnecessary work . The problem is we have seen what appears to be unnecessary work confirmed before. Very interesting find. Bob

     George,
          I believe it's from 2662, 1 of 3 red cars on the DSO 2598.

I found ass/delete sheets for 100 cars 00501-00601 (I think) in my car, #00503.
Pics already posted.
Found under drivers footpad/pedal area.

Where should I look for the buildsheet!?
