Old Seatbelt recon.
« on: May 25, 2021, 03:47:30 PM »
,,,,

I found a set of black OE seatbelts from a 67 Mustang.

I want to install them in my 667 Fairlane, the Fairlane belts have plastic buckles.

Im going to soak these in the sink with next to boiling water to maybe rinse some of the 50yr old dirt from the straps.

Would it be advisable to include a soap product?

Like a Lysol?

I've had good luck with Oxy Clean.  About a teaspoon per gallon.

I also use Oxy Clean but I use a cup of it in a 5 gallon bucket with the water up to near the top for a set of seat belts. I just use water from the garden hose. Soak them overnight and then rinse them off. Really improves them.

The liquid Oxy Clean and water in a 5 gallon bucket for a few days worked like a charm.

Thanks Guys.
