Other than a personal email exchange or two and this forum I never had a chance to meet Kenny.....I wish I had.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Its been an emotional rollercoaster the pass 48 hours for alot of us with Kenny's passing. But I want to assure everyone on this forum, The turnout of family and friends at Kenny's sisters yesterday spoke volumes of the love and respect we all had for "Mr BlackHat-On -Backwards " Kenny Beers. He will be missed for a very long time and I am proud to have called him my friend.

Oh Kenny, how I will miss your welcome hug when we would see you at Shelby conventions, Fords at Carlisle and The Atlantic City auction.  Certainly will miss all your rants about correct parts and how you and Dominic would stand off to the side looking at Shelbys and discussing its correct and incorrect parts.  All of the time we spent hanging out at the conventions, dinners and your many trips to our house working on your car here.  How we would spend all day walking Fords at Carlisle looking for a specific NOS part, like the gas cap.  How you brought Dominic into the concours judging and the time spent Nexteling each other discussing all sorts of stuff.  That New York accent will forever stay in my head.  Through all of it a true friend that is already sorely missed.

A few pictures of Kenny.

The first picture is of some of us that went to NYC on Friday.  I apologize for the bad picture which I took with my cell phone.

Second picture is Dominic (L) and Kenny (R) with their '67s that were in the same batch of cars sent to Pletcher Ford.

The 3 people in this photo that really made it for me at SAAC 35 were these guys (Dianna, Dominic and Kenny). This was taken up in the VIP observation deck or media platform at Sears Point (Infineon). Extremely devoted Shelby people. Terrific bunch

My condolences to everyone. Reading the posts; it's obvious everyone loved him a lot. Looking at the photos; he looked like a really nice guy. We've lost our share of people the last few years; seeing posts like these rips my heart back open.

It takes a long time to heal when you lose someone like this; the 1st year of them not being at functions will rip open any healing you've started to do.

The 1st 2 pics click open to black. There is a post here about why they do that & what to do. I just had 2 images not upload right; I was able to click modify post; then opened the images up on my computer; changed the file name & reattached them to the post.

Shocked to learn over the weekend in Hershey from a fellow SAAC member of Kenny's untimely death.  I will miss our challenging conversations of the 67 GT500.  Ginny and I will keep him, his family, and many friends in our prayers.

Sad indeed.  Untimely loss of a knowledgeable, dynamic and energetic character.  We must all remember that there are no guarantees or warranties when it come to our lives.  Best make good use of it.

Lisa and I were shocked to hear of Kenny's death. Lisa's nickname for Kenny was "New Yaawyk", for obvious reasons. He was a GREAT supporter and patron of the club, a true character.

One of the last times we saw him, we were discussing whether the next convention would be back on the west coast, and Kenny's comment was, "If I'm not dead...I'll be there."

We wish he could be.

Our condolences to his family. He was an original.

Kenny's service will be held November 20th (Sunday) @3pm at the Mount Sinai Chapel in Fresh Meadows, NY. There is also a concert planned for the day before, no other details at this time.

Had Mel & Jason over the other day, Jay seems to be doing OK. I gave him one of the hats that Dom & Dianne made. Naturally, he put it on just like his dad would have.

Looking for a reputable shop in Queens to get the 67 to so it can get back on the road - recommendations from the community would be helpful
