And who thought there would be no more fastbacks over $200 ?  And it needs help in many areas...

$209 K with fees.

I am one who still thinks this is sheer madness

Look at real estate pricing.

12 years of interest rates at record lows are warping everything. Add to that the Wuhan flu and you get a special brew of nearly free money and little else to spend it on.

Remember when we had this conversation about AUCTIONS... That they were drunks, didnt know anything about the hobby, they wanted face to face purchases, that auctions didnt set the bar on pricing? My ohh my, those that said that are... Now the first in line to consign their cars. ;) Whoda thunk... Many, and the hits just keep coming! ;D

... and isn't that one of those "gold" colors that Peter (pmustang) says he can't get anyone to buy  :o ::) ???

Well, I think gold 1968 fastbacks are about to get a lot more attention.

I believe all '68 Shelbys will come forward in value as the coming months auctions supply the demand. Not just 68's, but every high quality Shelby. Stimulus money will find it's way into many "investments" of all types. My guess is Mecum in May and other summer auctions will show the demand. Hagerty, and others, will boost premiums to reflect prices. People looking for that good deal should take another look at that deal today!

Looking around the Mecum auction people were not motivated by GOLD Shelbys or any colored cars but we tend to gravitate towards colors and cars we personally like. Sorta like looking at a Blonde Brunette or Red head. They might all be attractive but we all have our favorites. ;D Friends spent some stimulus money to get there. Hotels, food, airfare, parking, bidders passes etc eats up money quickly. Quite a few are in town for the next weekend BJ show as well. Hope you find the perfect car to add to your collections!

A new era of, "One just like it went for, (insert stupid price here), mine got to be worth that!" This has been going on forever.

Many "happy" people at BJ and M auctions, ebay will be in the mix also, but it is not that much fun drinking in your easy chair as opposed in front of a camera on speed week....Auction your car off with a super high reserve, like a MILLION, with a opening bid of 1.00, see where it ends up, (TMV or True Market Value).

any idea what car number it was?
Some where some one is driving their collector car for the last time but they don't know it . Drive your car every time like it could be the last memory of it .

Of that $209K........ how much does the IRS take and is there any loop holes that you can use to keep it all?  If the IRS takes 35% then you just sold a Car worth $200K for less than $139K.
