The good news is....it's on for Saturday....so you can still make "Fabulous Ford's Forever" at Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park on Sunday.   Fab Fords Forever is a GREAT show - plenty of vintage Ford iron.

FROM THE MUSEUM WEB SITE - Guess the prices exceeded the fun factor so not many were registered?

The Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum announced today a change in the schedule for the Ford-Cobra-Shelby Reunion.

“Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we have had to postpone the track part of our celebration of Cobra’s 50th birthday,” said NHRA Museum Executive Director Tony Thacker. “The Reunion will proceed as a one-day event at the NHRA Museum with the following activities planned for Saturday, April 21:

Show ’N Shine at the Museum: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Open to all Cobras, GT40s, Ford GTs, all Ford and Ford-powered vehicles and all Shelby vehicles.
Panel Discussion: 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
“Speed Merchants of Venice” 50th Anniversary Cobra Exhibit presented by Racing Division and curated by Lynn Park.
Exhibit Opening & Cocktail Reception: 5:00 pm
Banquet honoring Carroll Shelby with memorabilia auction: 7:00 pm

“Despite the change of plans we remain extremely excited about the Reunion,” continued Thacker. “We have a great group of speakers for the afternoon Panel Discussion. Also, guest curator Lynn ‘Mr. Cobra’ Park and Michael Holmes of Racing Division are putting together an amazing exhibit of previously unpublished photographs and rarely seen Cobras. That alone will be worth the price of admission.

“Finally, we will honor Carroll Shelby and the Shelby American employees with a banquet that will include an auction of signed items to raise money for the Carroll Shelby Foundation and the NHRA Museum.”

The Ford-Cobra-Shelby Reunion is scheduled for April 21 at the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, Pomona, California.

I just spoke with a lady at the NHRA museum and noted below is what I learned.

- Original cost was $699.00 that got you track time, show-and-shine, panel discussion, cocktail party, dinner, and such. With no track time, the price has now been lowered to $550.

- If you just want to enter your car in the show-and-shine it will cost $25

- If you just want to come to gawk, it will cost you $20 to see the show-and-shine and the NHRA Museum (kids under 12 are free)

- If you just want to attend the panel discussion in the afternoon, pull $20 from your wallet

- If you just want to attend the dinner, you will need to eat $100

- If you want to enter as a "guest", 150 clams will get you the cocktail party and the dinner (maybe more, but the lady on the phone was a bit wishy-washy)

What is unclear is this: If you bought a Guest ticket ($150), bought the show-and-shine entrance($25), and opted for the panel discussion ($20) ... it will set you back $195. However, doesn't that get you nearly everything (if not everything) of the full-zoot $550 deal??

Guess I'll enter my dirty car - only 5 bucks more not to have to hike from the far parking lot

PS - you may want to consider going north and west from the host hotel to get into a better neighborhood - or your car may not be there in the morning.

Lynn just emailed me and this is the 'straight scoop', as she referred to it, for those wondering (as I was).

It's 2 days track- the cost is $250.00 for the 2 days.
The Dinner is $100.00 per person
The Panel Discussion is $20.00 per person
 The Car Show is $25.00.
 Vendor space is $100.00 for a 10X10.

I'll be there with my '65 & '66 GT350's. Looking forward to it.
