Looks like anyone running at NJMP (home of SAAC-33) this weekend (Aug 27/28) may get a bit wet.  It seems a Category 2 Hurricane will be making it's presance known.

Anyone else in the path?

Dave,

Is your place down there low level (IE: flood easily), or are you in Mansfield/Hackettstown for the weekend?

Millville doesn't flood.  Only worried about the wind.  I'm sitting it out in Millville this week.  I should get some interesting photos.

Hackettstown doesn't flood, I hope.

There is a big differance between 100 miles away and having the Hurricane's Eye pass over your house.

I was scheduled to be an instructor at a HPDE on Monday, but it has been postponed until Sept 19.

I'm on the NJ/PA border 60 miles north of Philly, we're just expecting alot of rain and some wind.

The wind has been picking up for the last 3 hours.  The center of the storm is going to overrun Atlantic City.  Now there are Tornado Warnings for NJ.

Never a dull moment for New Jersey Motorsports Park.

The real bad part starts around 2 am.

I for one don't mind the updates. Popcorn
Because I live further up the coast...It lets me know what to expect in the next few hours. Undecided

Rich

I bet at least 1/3 of all SAAC Members Worldwide live in the path of Hurricane Irene.

Lewes, DE which is just across the Delaware Bay from Cape May, NJ was just hit by a Tornado.

I think Lewes is about 50 miles away to the Southeast.  That weather is coming our way.

Tornado in Vineland, NJ (the largest town in NJ).  That's about 5 miles North of NJMP(about 40 West of Atlantic City).

Rich
I started a Hurricane thread for ya.

By the time the storm gets to you on Monday it's only going to be a light rain.

The Hurricane is coming my way in a couple hours.  It will be coming for Rich about 3 to 4 hours later.

Some club members near NYC will want to know about this kind of stuff.  Till the power goes out. Then I'm posting with my new Iphone 4.

I have been flying for 28 years and studing weather all that time.  My home page is a weather page.  Having lived in Northern NJ for over 40 years and Southern NJ for about 6  I may have something to say about a Hurricane running the Jersey Coast.

But then again...you have a Shelby.  What do I know?
