The plater I took a friend's original "Oak Motors" pot metal badge to have refinished managed to melt the thing into a Salvador Dali version, very rare, but difficult to use now.
Anyone have one of these dealer badges they want to sell?  They are quite common on the old Fords in Nashville. I have seen some in junkyards there, but I am in NC right now, so....

Thanks.

Jim-
I grew up in Nashville (left in '62)  The big dealer there was Hippodrome Motors down on Church Street. Bought a '57 T-Bird from them.  Do you know where Oak Motors was located?

Stan

On behalf of Jim, I'll answer this question. It was at 915 Fifth Avenue at the ballpark. From my Nashville source, it was the biggest Ford dealer around.

Sorry, I don't remember it.  The ballpark I remember was Sulfur Dell down near the railroad tracks and the coal company below the stockyards. Was Oak Motors in business back in the '50's?

To the best of my knowledge, it was. My Nashville source has a '50's Ford that was purchased from that dealership.

I've thrown away at least 3 of those. I wondered how I could keep getting cars sold from that dealer. I think they were just off Charlotte past the railroad bridge near where the Bicentinial Mall and Farmers Market is now. I'll look but I'm sure mine are all gone.
