For the first time in 45 years Sleeping Beauty has been driven down the street shredding her BFG'S like back in the day when she was a lot younger. Listening to that solid lifter big block wail, echoing off the houses and canyon walls at about 7000 rpm shift points made this incredibly long wait even more special. As I write this I can't stop giggling and smiling like a teenager that just got asked to the prom by the prom queen. I will need to finish the interior and then make plans for Indy. Hope to see ya all then! Chug a Lug

That's great to hear but wish I could have heard you zinging it to about 7000 rpm shift points . That would have been outrageous . I cant wait to see it .

Great  Lager

With some speed rated tyres, Indy should give you an idea of her top speed potential you are looking for.  Cool one

A Great Big thank you JD for the help with the pictures. A tutorial might be in order here, I really need help explaining how to post pictures. The BFGS offer about the same traction of an ice skating rink Hysterical HeadSpin. They were on another car of mine and are a temporary set of rollers, they sure do put up clouds of billowing blue smoke Cheesy It should be leaving my buddies shop soon and will try to take some pics out in the sun, including some of the engine as well!

On its 50th birthday the Beast is driving on its own power again. I picked it up from a friends shop who graciously helped my get the little details and some big details worked out. For those that haven't followed my project it was on the road only about four-five years when it was involved in a mishap in 1971 that took it off the road until today, a very special day for me. It is mostly complete sans interior components, trying to get it ready for its 50th birthday celebration at Indy. Now its time to put some miles on the odometer and get used to its ways making sure everything is as its supposed to be. Cool one
