Might be the wrong way to welcome the new onwer of the #015 MkI car but I have to agree with the magazine, the car was well bought.   I would love to see more of the car's previous history discussed.  For me, I am less of a fan of the "instant classic" idea on these cars and more of a fan of the fact they defined what everyone wanted their 5.0 to be back in 1992.  The SAAC cars delivered the goods, can stand on their own merits and were a "no compromise" car unlike the 1993 Cobra with the soft suspension, 4 lug and lower HP rating.

MKI 015 was featured in the "5.0 Mustangs & Super Fords" magazine and those pictures are all over the internet, probably more so than any other SAAC car. Even the close up pictures show off a very clean car. The auction write up states 1 of 4 Paxton supercharged but I recall mostly Vortech supercharged cars listed in the 97 Registry. I'm going to check into that further. I've got a paxton ad with a convertible shown.

Yeah, not 100% accurate in the little blurb but I hope the new owner pops in to set it all straight.  Would be really neat to see what kind of notes may be out there form SAAC or Watson Engineering on the specifics of the SC cars.

I believe many people use "paxton" and "vortech" interchangably with the later model cars..it is my belief that they are referring to the same setup.

best regards,
Vern

Vern, you're probably right.
I believe #015 was the only MKI from the factory with a Paxton Supercharger, then again it was returned to the factory for the install. The Paxton could have been a customer request since they have a history with Shelby.

Didnt know if anybody else looked this up already. Keep the info coming this is great

Mike,

We have no record of the current owner of MKI # 015 other than it was last sold at the Spring Carlisle Auctions in 2011 with only 10,056 miles. Perhaps you can ask your friend to give us an update. I see it is posted on the Hemmings Classified site. There was link to dozens of great detail photos, and from what I see it looks to be an exceptionally clean car.\ PeelOut

Would it be possible to get in contact with your friend?
