Been working on the details with Chris Liebenberg, he has given us the OK to set up a SAAC day there! Camera

Next step is to set up a day. The running consensus is to do this tour once the weather cools off in the late Fall, since the show season is already well underway, and most have plans set. We'll do a Saturday, and have Chris set the time, maybe 10 to 2? We'll all contribute towards having lunch brought in? Thinking the weekend or two before Thanksgiving? Post your thoughts here, all SAAC  groups, members, friends invited. We were last there in 2008, and Chris tells me there are many new vehicles on display.

Please post your thoughts and suggestions, I'll coordinate with Chris, and we both think it can be a great time. I urge all local SAAC Regions to come out as a club, this will be a good time to all get together.

Here is their site - www.3dog.org

Here are a few pics from that 2008 visit.

+1 It should be late Sept or Oct. last time there we had set up meeting spots in several areas as to cruise there with our cars in groups we had 50 0r so cars show up. Made for a nice outside show in the parking lots.

This sounds like a great opportunity to see some exceptional race cars in this private collection.
Where would this event be located (no address was listed on the website)

September or later in October is good for me. The Ocean City car cruise is 6-9 of October so not on that weekend. I know of several people that would go to this and bring cars.

One of the thoughts is that this would make a great cold weather mixer, where the emphasis is on the cars inside the building and all of us in the flesh, and not as much on what we drive. So in the case of bad weather, personal transportation is not a primary concern. I should also note, there is no main parking lot or area to park, and the facility is in an industrial park. But, last time we were there, we did park our classics all over and made it work.

Also, I need to check with the schedule of the cars themselves, as some are actively raced, and we'd want to make sure they all are there.

Also, with the North East Regional in Mid-October, trying to have some spacing between the events, whether before or after, for those who will attend both and have a great distance to travel.

Happily, this is why I am running the thread now and asking for all your input, so within a time period we can set a date.

There is also an open house at Holman Moody for this to schedule around!

keep on posting!

I am looking forward to this.  I didn't take too much convincing and the SAAC MkI Mustang #004 will be there.

SAAC NE Regional Oct 14-16
TE/AE United XXX Oct 6-9
AACA Hershey Oct 5-8
3-Dog tour Oct ??
Simeone Museum "Tribute to Fairmount Park GP" Demonstration Day Oct 22

Sounds like too much to fit into 1 month - several weekends with multiple events... but this one [3-Dog] will be a high priority!!

Posted a poll, so everyone please vote!  Rip

The days left out are Fall Hershey (Oct 5-8)  and the North East Regional SAAC Meet Oct 14-16). I am committed to my town fair the weekend of Sept 17-18)

I am waiting to hear back from 3-dog if there are any Saturdays that are not good for them.

I "voted" for Nov 5, but any of the Nov dates would be better than October [for me Grin] - just too much on the schedule.
Thanks, Dan.
