I don't remember seeing Short Order anywhere, except the Hot Wheels pamphlet.

My son found this nice Aurora ''Sterling Moss'' set for me!  Cool one The set is near mint, but the box has some minor issues.

This isn't really a toy, but I got it cheap on ebay. Claimed to be a wooden carved 68 Shelby but it looks like a casting made to simulate wood.

I mentioned I would post some of my model cars and the 69 DeMexico idea.  Here they are:  The hard to find Revel 69 Mustang coupe/convertible kit # H-1261:200, close up of the roof, 70 Gt 500 C'vert. - I bought that on Ebay, it has a broken windsheild frame.  They made somered/white/blue coupes like that.  And, a Boss 429 Cougar.  I have no idea if they ever made a competition orange one like it, the only made 2, B29' Cougars.

And some more: the pink GT 500 is supposed to be Connie Kresge's Playmate of the monthe award.  I built this some 20 years ago, and didn't see what color the interioe is supposed to be.  The other three are 1/43 scale.  The 59 LeMans winnes Carroll drove, the 63 Cobra early cobra race car, and a Daytona coupe.  The two outside ones are Starter kits, made in france.  The center one is a Monogram 1/43rd kit/

Nice job building those. Ever break a steering wheel when you're removing it from the tree?
I hate that.
Cool collection of cottonswabs too!  Grin

That '69 Grande kit is definately a rare one. Is it your plan to build a '69 D'Mex out of it or just making suggestion to some of us other kit builders? I'm not sure I could bring myself to altering that kit into a Shelby version.

I'm digging that '70 vert. I've been looking for another resin kit of that vert for many years, to go with my grabber blue GT500 vert. Maybe black jade?
The comp orange Eliminator Boss9 is a beauty! I'd like to see some pics of the real one (or 2 as you mentioned in any color they might be).  PeelOut
Nice pink GT500! As Shas mentions, it seems to go well with your bathroom motif. Hysterical
I really like the trio of 43rds. They do look great together!  Party on

Nice work on all of them!  Chug a Lug

Just got this one. I think that one makes 50 Smith Millers now.

If you're wondering why I have a tool chest in the house, I use that for my art supplies.

Pink VW van with click surfboard  "Rear-Loader" Beach Bomb changed hands for 70K 13 years ago. There was only 1 prototype made. Any of the "sweet 16" first issue Redlines are good money.

Still have my cars and carry cases as well but they were all played hard.

I dont know what the sweet 16 are but mine are all redline tired cars dated 1967-1969. I have a sweet green bus with surfboards, Hemi cuda, beatnick bandit, blown bug, etc my preference even in those days leaned towards fast cars. Thet are still in its 48 car collector case I hauled around the neighbor hood to GO TO THE RACES! Grin

The sweet 16 is the term given to the first 16 Mattel Hot wheels cars introduced in 1968. 10 of these were custom versions of regular production cars. They have no cuts for doors. There were 26 cars introduced in 69 including the Shelby Turbine and the holy grail Beach Bomb. Your regular production version is worth 600 bucks in minty condition. 1970 run consisted of 43 new cars. Those are hot years but the Redline continued until 1977. Some of the track sets are worth a lot of dough like the Mongoose and Snake drag set up. Growing up in Canada it was all about customizing our bicycles to make the first BMX set ups, Hotwheels and Hockey cards. Good times Grin. Still have all of my cards including 3 rookie Bobby Orr's.
