The repro Day-Nite mirrors chrome housing isn't crimped like the original. The glass falls out and lands on the shifter, every time.
The '66's original twist knobs can be pulled out and switched so the original look is maintained with the repro. The repro's I've seen do not have a ford logo on the back.(front?).
I've had better luck with the '65 style with the  ''toggle'' type day nite mechanism. The '65's don't fall apart quite as quickly.
This should not concern owners of concourse '65-'66 GT350s as they were equipped with standard mirrors.

Tip for fixing the repro mirrors so the glass won't pop out?
Slip a greenback or c-note between the glass and housing so the mirror won't chip. Then gently crimp the edge over just enough to keep the glass from popping out of the housing.
The U.S. dollar is strong and can be pulled from the freshly crimped edge. Do this in at least four spots.
Good to go.
