Perhaps the registrar will chime in with the latest info. By chance do you have any photos or stories to share? Pretty neat to have purchased a Shelby new!

I can't help you with your search for 1549 but I would be interested in any info, photos, salesman, ect. that you may have on the car. I have a 68 GT500KR ( 02267 ) that was sold new at W.W. Wallwork Fargo Inc. also. My car was sold in the winter of 68/69 to a Donald Mutschler in Wimbledon ND.

Rodney, I belived that W.W.Wallworks was one of the largest Ford dealers in the country at the time. They sold 12+ GT500s back then. Both my brother and I purchaed one (his a 67, mine a 68). We both now regret parting with them (who dosen't...). I don't know Don Mutschler but I am sure he also had fun with the car back then. We had a construction company back then so we actually purchased the cars through our truck sales person. Great to hear that your KR is in good hands.

Also I did get a response from 68registrar and really appreciate the information and help in my search.

an update and a confirmation of the power of the Registry. After only 24 hours my brother's 67 GT500 has been found and it is alive and well and living in Florida. The hunt for the 68 (SN 1549) continues.

I don' think they were even close to being one of the largest. Several dealers sold 100s of Shelbys. Bill Kolb at Gotham Ford probably sold a hundred himself.

MrMustang, thanks for the reply. I did contact the Registrar and he was great and provided me with the SN that got this thread started. I will also talk to the search site that was noted and see what they might be able to do.
