Post by: 7777kx on May 23, 2020, 02:14:55 PM
I have 68KR #03388 in my shop and am looking for a excellent used 9" 3rd member for it.
Would any forum member have a suitable unit i can purchase?
Thanks Alan

Hi Alan, I don’t have one but your probably not going to find 8B/C. Batches seem to go from 7M to 8D. FYI I’ve seen 7Ms in June KRs

Hi Tim,
Many thanks for the informative post, much appreciated...
That being said...would any body have a late 67 dated 3rd member that would be suitable?

You need a 7M non N case. I’ll see if I have one.

=1 - these were special parts only made in batches when needed. They apparently made a lot of them in the 7M period of time, enough to cover all the Mercury, Ford and Shelby 427 and 428 production for several months afterwards.

Thank you guys, for the information and experience.
One question, i have seen some SPEC marked 3rd members on 67GT500's i have worked on, did 68KR's sometimes have those fitted as well?
